I remember continually thinking about how anything good could come from so much suffering, how can people talk about beauty in suffering, where was it? I didn't see it. It wasn't until my very long road trip from Alabama to Washington state that I saw and realized where and what it was. That beautiful thing from all that suffering and pain, it's you, it’s me! We are the beauty in it all. I am that flower that has blossomed from that pile of dirt, it is me and I am a beautiful thing. We would not be who we are today without all of that suffering and pain, that is what has made us who we are and we are amazingly beautiful. I was driving through Kansas when I made that realization and I was so stoked on life. I felt so empowered and ready to take on anything. I love who I am and what I believe in. I can now take the wheel, make bad turns, admit that I made those bad turns, and apologize for the issues that were because of those wrong turns. This means that I can continue to grow, I don’t have to and don’t want to stop.
