I recently embarked on a cross country journey, a journey in which I had no idea the value of my discoveries. I reached a place of self realization that has both empowered and inspired me to be more than I already am. This journey led me to discover that although you may choose to do something that is not about you it is in fact ALL about you. The actions and things that you decide to do with your life are you, just as you are them. You choose the ups and downs, spins and turns, and whiplashes that you experience on this roller coaster of life. This roller coaster is your design, no one else’s. You have all the power to create it. Each part of your roller coaster is a significant part of who you are no matter how small the stretch. You can choose whether or not an abrupt stop gives you whiplash and ends your ride or you simply pick up where you left off. You can choose, although you may not be able to choose every action that happens you can choose how you react to those actions. When you finally come to the realization that you call the shots it is amazingly self-empowering. I cannot even begin to explain the benefits of coming to that realization. The obvious one is Float Wise, I am now on a whole new and different kind of journey. I call the shots and make the decisions, of course I take lots of advice and am super open to criticism, but ultimately I make the final call. Essentially, this roller coaster of life is pretty amazing.
I envision an openness, a non-judgmental place to discuss and debate ideas, not argumentatively but informatively; a place for people to talk to people, not strangers, not robots, but community members and friends; a place to discover the people we share this world with, to learn how to be ourselves and grow relationships; a place to be. We struggle with the different versions or parts of ourselves that we have to be: the sister, the brother, the mom, the dad, the employee, etc. At times we get lost in the shuffle and sometimes lose ourselves because we can’t divulge our full selves, we feel alone and unworthy; so this is where you get to be you, all of you. You get to finally be your true authentic self and slip out of the layers put on you by society. Let’s inspire with no worries about what will transpire. Let’s be part of a place to see and witness the connections that are right in front of us, the ones that society can sometimes blind us from; a place to empathize with the world and all the beings that encompass it.
